Owned and run by Amy Gentry, Amy’s Whimsy Shop began with a simple itch to try watercolor — and quickly turned into a full-blown love affair (some might say obsession). What started as flowers and landscapes soon evolved when Amy decided to paint a playful bird inspired by a friend’s personality. Those funny little creatures took flight (ha!) — and a whimsical brand was born.

Each design begins with the belief that art should feel personal, joyful, and a little bit unexpected. Amy loves creating pieces that capture personality and spark connection — whether through charming bird illustrations, heartfelt cards, or custom artwork that makes someone feel truly seen. The goal is simple: make people smile.

By day, Amy is a performing arts marketer in Seattle, WA, telling stories and building audiences. At home, she’s a mom of three, wife of one, and enthusiastic hugger of three dogs (and any other animals willing to accept the honor). After a few years of some difficult health hurdles, watercolor has become more than a creative outlet — it’s a grounding practice, a quiet place to find joy, and a reminder to embrace whimsy even in hard seasons.
